Back in August I met a lovely lady at the Kilmihil Craft Fair.
She'd taken a recent tumble of her high nelly bike and her bike basket had gotten badly damaged and was unusable and was hoping I could bring it back to life.
The basket had taken quite a bit of damage to the back - the very part which needed to be strong at that's where it attached to the frame.
I started by removing the damaged top part of basket and began by adding in new uprights around the baskets then wove a three rod wale to give the basket back some strength and rigidity then switched to a beautiful lavender willow to add a section of English randing before switching back to a traditional brown willow for the border.
The result was a strong basket with many years of use ahead of it.
The customer was thrilled and thought it looked better than it did originally!
